About Black Ridge Mountaineering:
Murt Dineen has been working in the Irish mountains for the past 8 years. He is
trained as a Mountain Leader and Multi-pitch rock climbing instructor. Is an Emergency
First Responder in first aid as well as holding Rescue Emergency Care level 3 in first
aid. Murt has also worked for an adventure centre for a number of years before
becoming a free-lance instructor.
As a free-lance instructor Murt worked with some of
Ireland’s premier adventure companies. Murt has guided groups of many different
sizes, age’s and abilities on many different mountains all around Ireland.
Black Ridge Mountaineering was founded by Murt Dineen in January 2010. It was
founded to promote mountaineering as a fun activity that will engage and challenge
participants. Also to make the mountains of Ireland accessible for those that wish to
use them. We will guide people on anything from a gentle afternoon stroll to a
hanging from a cliff. Black Ridge Mountaineering are here to help you get the most
from your activity
Black Ridge Mountaineering follows the ‘Leave No Trace’ Ethos as its guiding principles. Murt is an accreted
‘Leave No Trace’ instructor. Awareness courses are provide to clients that wish to avail of them. Any thing from a
half hour introductory course to a day long in depth awareness course. They can be held as a stand alone course
or can be incorporated into a mountaineering activity. Enquiries can be directed through email, phone call, Skype,

We also have a series of set festivals such as the summer and winter solstice, both equinox (Spring March 20/21,
Autumn September 22/23) and Turas Oiche Shamhna. A full description with details of event location, group size,
etc... is given about these events on the web site. More events may be added to this list so keeping an eye on the
web site is a good idea.
